Empowering Young Learners: The Abhay Bhutada Foundation’s Commitment to STEM
The Abhay Bhutada Foundation has consistently championed initiatives aimed at making quality education accessible to underprivileged students. One of its most impactful contributions has been its support for the “LearnByDoing” initiative, which focuses on hands-on STEM education for young minds.
Empowering Students Through STEM Education
The foundation recently played a key role in expanding the reach of the “LearnByDoing” initiative, an educational program by Sakar Eduskills that provides STEM kits to students from economically weaker sections. With the foundation’s support, over 2,000 students across eight schools in Pune district, Maharashtra, have received these kits, bringing a new dimension of experiential learning to their classrooms.

Bridging the Gap in Science Education
The “LearnByDoing” initiative was created with a mission to make science and mathematics education more engaging and accessible. Many students from underserved communities struggle with theoretical concepts due to a lack of resources and hands-on exposure. By introducing STEM kits that allow them to experiment and learn in an interactive manner, the foundation is helping bridge this gap.
Expanding Reach and Impact
Through the efforts of the Abhay Bhutada Foundation, STEM kits have been distributed to schools in Bursewadi, Kelgaon, Dhanore, Bahul, Thakarwadi, Bhose, Malegaon, and Sangise. For many of these schools, this was the first time students had access to such educational tools, making the experience even more valuable.
One of the teachers at a school in Kelgaon expressed gratitude for the initiative, highlighting how the kits simplify complex scientific concepts for students. Similarly, a seventh-grade student shared his enthusiasm for learning about the human body, periscopes, and microscopes through the kit, enhancing his understanding in ways traditional methods could not.

Encouraging Future Innovation
The foundation’s investment in STEM education is not just about immediate academic benefits; it is about fostering curiosity and innovation among young learners. By providing practical exposure to science and technology, the initiative is preparing students for future careers in STEM fields while also encouraging more families to enroll their children in government schools.

A Lasting Impact on Education
The Abhay Bhutada Foundation’s commitment to education extends beyond this initiative. Through its various programs, it continues to remove financial and infrastructural barriers to learning. The “LearnByDoing” initiative is a testament to how targeted interventions can create meaningful change in the lives of students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
With continued support from the foundation and other like-minded organizations, initiatives like these will keep making science education more inclusive and inspiring for generations to come.
