Shivsrushti Becomes More Accessible with Support from Abhay Bhutada Foundation
Making history more approachable for the public is often easier said than done. But thanks to the recent support extended by the Abhay Bhutada Foundation, an important step has been taken in that direction. The foundation has donated ₹51 lakhs to Shivsrushti, the iconic historical theme park in Ambegaon Budruk, Pune. This contribution will allow visitors to explore the park for a reduced ticket price of ₹50 between May 15 and July 15, 2025. The aim is to make cultural education inclusive and engaging for everyone, regardless of their financial background.

Bridging the Gap Between People and Heritage
The price reduction has been made possible solely to encourage public interaction with India’s glorious past. Shivsrushti is known for its dedication to showcasing the life and achievements of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. By making the ticket more affordable, the foundation wants to draw in students, families, and history lovers who may not have had a chance to visit before.
Cultural learning becomes far more effective when it is experienced rather than read about. Shivsrushti offers this experience in a unique way, and the Abhay Bhutada Foundation’s effort ensures that more individuals can be part of it.
Historical Exploration Through a Modern Lens
Spread over 21 acres, Shivsrushti is not just a place for sightseeing. It’s an educational space that uses storytelling and advanced technology to transport visitors back to the era of Shivaji Maharaj. Developed under the vision of noted historian Babasaheb Purandare, the park is a meaningful tribute to one of India’s most respected leaders.
Every section of the park offers a lesson, presenting various dimensions of Shivaji Maharaj’s journey—from military strategy to administrative brilliance.
Immersive Spaces That Offer Cultural Insights
Some of the key areas of interest within the theme park include:
Time Machine Theatre
A standout feature of the park, this theatre uses sound, light, and digital effects to recreate defining moments from Shivaji Maharaj’s timeline.
Durg Vaibhav

Shrimant Yogi
A peaceful area that explores the inner philosophies and spiritual grounding that guided Shivaji Maharaj’s decisions.
Sinhasanadhishwar

Additional installations include replicas of historic temples, lakes, and galleries that present a deeper view of the Maratha king’s personal and public life.

Designed for All Ages and Comfort Levels
Shivsrushti offers a comfortable and accessible experience for visitors of all age groups. The park is fully air-conditioned, which means guests can explore it without being impacted by seasonal weather. This thoughtful infrastructure ensures that the emphasis remains on learning and enjoyment.
With the expected rise in the number of visitors during the subsidised entry period, ticket sales will be handled exclusively online via the park’s website. This will help manage crowds and offer a more seamless visit for everyone.
Abhay Bhutada Foundation’s Cultural Priorities
The Abhay Bhutada Foundation, led by its founder Abhay Bhutada, has a reputation for supporting causes that create value for the larger public. Education, community development, and cultural projects have always remained at the centre of the foundation’s work.
This initiative is another chapter in their ongoing commitment to providing the tools and access needed for societal advancement. The collaboration with Shivsrushti isn’t just about a financial donation—it’s about opening doors to knowledge, history, and pride.
Voices from the Leadership
Jagdish Kadam, Chairman of Shivsrushti, shared that the park was built in line with the ideals of Babasaheb Purandare. It is a place where the ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj are presented in a relatable and accessible manner. He acknowledged the role played by Abhay Bhutada and his foundation in making this vision reach a wider group of people.
The park's design merges educational goals with visitor-friendly features, creating a space that both teaches and inspires.

Strengthening Cultural Participation Across Communities
By making Shivsrushti’s immersive experiences more affordable, the Abhay Bhutada Foundation is helping break down the idea that cultural learning is limited to a few. Now, students from underrepresented communities, school groups, or families from modest backgrounds can be part of this engaging historical journey.
This model of giving demonstrates that impactful philanthropy doesn’t always mean building something new—it can also mean opening up something valuable to more people. The focus is not only on showcasing history but ensuring that the lessons of the past reach today’s learners.
